The band

Far more than flamenco

Kaena Colorá was born out of flamenco. It never stayed there.

Flamenco guitar, bass, cajón, saxophone and flute — and a voice that moves from cante jondo to rap without losing the thread. The repertoire runs through Latin pop, reggaetón, world fusion and flamenco: original compositions and songs everyone knows, rearranged our way.

The company also creates its own staged works — Íntimo, Bandoleras, Sangre y oro, Hispanidad — where dance takes the stage. Based in Nice, we play anywhere: theatres, festivals, music venues, private events. Music that is rooted and restless at once, speaking as much to flamenco lovers as to an audience that had never heard any.

Show

Staged flamenco

A real show, written and staged, where dance has its full place. The quintet is joined by guest artists and dancers from Spain: cante, guitar, palmas, zapateado — and a dramaturgy that holds the room from beginning to end.

  • Denaïse — vocals & percussion
  • Natalia de Alicante — vocals
  • Paco de Andrea & Andrea Prieto — dance, Spain
  • Sara Moha and German El Conguito — dance

For theatres, festivals and season programmes.

Concert

Latin quintet & private events

Five musicians, a repertoire made for the stage and for the dance floor. Latin pop, world fusion, reggaetón and flamenco follow one another without a pause: you can listen sitting down, though few people stay seated.

  • Vocals — Laura Scibetta
  • Flamenco guitar — Quino Mallén
  • Bass & double bass — Fredo Santana
  • Percussion — Dito Mallén
  • Saxophone & flute — Enrique Mata

Flexible set, from cocktail hour to dance floor.

For private parties, weddings, corporate events, music venues and festivals.

Repertoire

Five flamenco creations

From Nice, the company writes its own shows: staged pieces where the music carries a story and dance takes the stage.

The quintet

Five musicians, one compás

Laura Scibetta, singer

Laura Scibetta

Vocals

The emotional heart of the band. A powerful, expressive voice moving from pure cante flamenco to Latin and pop rhythms — and she raps as well as she sings.

Quino Mallén, flamenco guitarist

Quino Mallén

Flamenco guitar

He moves easily between traditional melodies and contemporary riffs. His playing is the melodic backdrop that ties the past to the present.

Fredo Santana, bass and double bass player

Fredo Santana

Bass & double bass

Coming from reggae and rumba gitana, he moves between acoustic bass, rumba guitar and double bass depending on what the piece asks for. He is after the groove, the sound, and the pleasure of playing together.

Dito Mallén, cajón percussionist

Dito Mallén

Percussion

The patriarch on the cajón. A pulse rooted in flamenco tradition and wide open to Latin and urban sounds: the signature of the band.

Enrique Mata, saxophonist and flautist

Enrique Mata

Saxophone & flute

His arrangements widen the band's musical horizon and bring a colour that crosses genres and borders.

Guest artists

For the staged shows — Íntimo, Bandoleras, Sangre y oro — the quintet grows.

An album for the festivals

A record is being written. It brings together covers of the great Spanish and Latin American songs and the band's own compositions — conceived first for the festival stage, where the repertoire comes into its own.

Programmers: write to us for an early listen to the demos.

On stage

A magnetic presence

Full shows, stages with dancers, Latin nights: Kaena Colorá adapts to the venue and the evening, from the theatre to the music bar.
